The three of us met and spent over 20 years working together at Triage Consulting Group, which had over 800 hospital clients -- from large faith-based, non-profit, and for-profit health systems to small community and critical access hospitals -- and was primarily focused on the review of hospital reimbursement for the purpose of identifying and recovering payment variances.
We were Principals, members of Triage’s Executive Leadership team, and worked closely with clients and project teams to deliver Triage's services, which included reimbursement audits, revenue cycle consulting and training, process improvements to prevent future revenue losses, contract rate/term analysis, and litigation support services.
After leaving Triage in 2019, Brett and Jeff formed C&F Consulting and continued to provide revenue cycle consulting services with a focus on small hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and addiction treatment facilities.
Troy continued with Triage, which (after a series of M&A transactions) became Cloudmed and then R1. After leading its Litigation Support & Expert Services service line, Troy left Cloudmed/R1 to form Provider Reimbursement Solutions LLC.
In November 2023, the two firms merged to form 221Consulting, which is a nostalgic nod to Triage’s old San Francisco address at 221 Main Street, where we first met.
